MY SKETCHBOOK: WHAT I LIKE AND DONT LIKE

here’s what I like and don’t like about each page in my sketchbook!!

- I prefer using acrylic paint markers but two of the drawings are used with alcohol markers (the pigeon + Quinn Fabray)

- I gave the pigeon drawing to my friend/coworker!! I used markers that she gave me for Christmas!! (Brand: Nassau)

- Quinn Fabray’s portrait was done with Copic and Prismacolor markers!

- My preferred brand of Acrylic Paint Markers is Shuttle Art, but some drawings use Tooli-Art markers too( Velvette + Daniela/Carla )

- I find that Tooli-Art is harder to work with as they are fine tip only. I prefer dual sided markers with a brush tip! The Tooli-Art markers are also very small and don’t cover a lot of surface before drying out.

... Read moreIn the world of sketching, each artist has their unique tools and preferences. My experience with various markers, such as Copic and Prismacolor, illustrates this diversity. I appreciate how vibrant colors can bring a drawing to life, yet I acknowledge the challenges that come with blending techniques, especially with fine-tipped markers like those from Tooli-Art. Finding the right medium is essential; for instance, acrylic paint markers have proven to be my favorite due to their ease of use and vibrant finish. Different styles and brand experiences also play a significant role in shaping an artist's work. For example, using dual-sided markers allows greater flexibility in achieving desired effects and texture. A notable moment in my creative journey was creating a portrait of a pigeon, giving it life with hidden blues and purples that add depth to the artwork. Moreover, each piece tells a story, as I often share my drawings with friends, turning personal sketches into cherished gifts. Whether it's experimenting with color on hair or perfecting anatomy in my portraits, each artwork contributes to my growth as an artist. The feedback from followers on social media also fuels my passion, as seeing others appreciate my work inspires me to keep experimenting and improving my techniques. By reflecting on what I love and what I find challenging, I continue to evolve in my artistic endeavors.
