Firefighter + Nurse = A Love Story Lit by God 💍🔥💉
This past weekend I had the honor of officiating the wedding of Firefighter Bailey Dunn and ER Nurse Claudia Velasco. Two amazing people!
The ceremony took place at the stunning Bridal Veil Lake, and the day couldn’t have been more beautiful. Beyond the scenery, what stood out most was the love these two have for each other and their shared commitment to serve others through their callings.
As I stood with them, I was reminded that marriage is a sacred gift from God, and I have no doubt He will continue to guide and strengthen Bailey and Claudia in the years ahead.
It was a joy to be part of such a meaningful celebration—may their marriage shine as a light of faith, hope, and love.

Weddings that unite two people dedicated to helping others, like firefighter Bailey Dunn and ER nurse Claudia Velasco, truly inspire. Their commitment to public service reflects a deep sense of duty and compassion that goes beyond their professions. The choice of the scenic Bridal Veil Lakes as the venue adds to the profound symbolism of their union. Surrounded by serene nature, the couple’s love story mirrors the calm strength they bring to their demanding careers. The weddinimg day in this natural paradise also reminds us of the importance of finding peaceful moments amid busy lives. An important theme underlying their marriage is faith. The scripture Mark 10:9, “Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate,” emphasizes that their marriage is a sacred union blessed and protected by divine guidance. Such spiritual grounding often provides couples with resilience and hope when navigating life’s challenges. Support from communities like Hope Chaplain and blessings from professions such as corrections, dispatch, EMS, military, and police further underscore the powerful network of care surrounding this couple. Their wedding is not only a personal milestone but a celebration of shared values found in many public service roles. For couples where one or both partners serve others professionally, a wedding often symbolizes more than love—it represents partnership in mission. This story encourages us to appreciate how love intertwined with service can brighten lives and communities alike, becoming a beacon of faith, hope and love in everyday life.
