My Favorite Bookish Apps
I read a lot. I’ve found several Bookish apps that I love and use often. I use Bookshelf to keep track of my physical books. You can scan the isbn to make sure you’re not buying duplicates. Book Buddy also works great. Fable is a reading tracker. It works similarly to Goodreads. #bookapps #readingwebsites #bookishchat #booklemon8 #booktok
You know that feeling, right? Staring at your bookshelf, wondering if you already own that new release you just spotted, or worse, buying a duplicate! As someone whose reading habit often outpaces my memory, I’ve been on a quest for the perfect solution to manage my ever-growing collection of physical books. That's where BookBuddy truly shines, and it’s become an indispensable part of my bookish life. When I first discovered BookBuddy, I was skeptical. I’d tried spreadsheets, sticky notes, even attempting to memorize my entire library (spoiler: that didn't work). But BookBuddy changed everything. Its primary function as a PHYSICAL BOOK Tracker is incredibly robust. The sheer ease of adding books to my digital shelves is what sold me. You simply use your phone's camera to scan the ISBN barcode, and poof – all the book’s details, from title and author to publication date and cover art, appear instantly. This feature alone has saved me countless dollars and prevented so many duplicate purchases. For those rarer finds or books without a clear ISBN, manual entry is straightforward, allowing you to fill in all the important metadata. But BookBuddy isn't just about cataloging; it's also a fantastic Reading Tracker. Beyond just knowing what books you own, it lets you keep tabs on when you read them and your progress. I love marking books as 'read,' 'currently reading,' or 'to be read.' This helps me build a comprehensive history of my reading journey. You can log start and finish dates, which is brilliant if you're trying to track your reading pace or simply remember when you devoured that last thrilling novel. It even allows you to add personal notes or ratings, making it a more personalized experience than just a simple inventory app. The app's interface is clean and intuitive, making it a joy to use. I can organize my books into custom 'shelves' – perhaps by genre, by acquisition date, or even by books I've lent out (and need to remember to get back!). This level of organization is something I truly appreciate. While I use other apps like Fable for social reading challenges or Goodreads for reviews, BookBuddy is my dedicated personal librarian for my tangible collection. It doesn't try to be everything; it excels at what it promises: being a reliable PHYSICAL BOOK Tracker/Reading Tracker BookBuddy. For anyone looking to take control of their physical book collection, I wholeheartedly recommend giving BookBuddy a try. It’s a simple, yet powerful tool that seriously enhances the joy of being a book collector. No more guessing games or accidental doubles – just a perfectly organized, easily accessible record of all your beloved books.

Bookshelf I just got and I’ll be trying it out to see if I want to go pro or not
