Provincial aquatic life in the northeast

Thailand's provincial aquatic fauna is sourced from the Fisheries Department's policy of maintaining and restoring the natural diversity of aquatic fauna distributed by various bodies of water to be sustainable with all provinces in December 2014.

The department ordered the relevant departments of each province to appoint a committee to research and investigate the local aquatic species of their respective provinces and then consider selecting one aquatic species or fish of each province with the background and reasons for the selection.

ในภาคอีสานนั้น สัตว์น้ำประจำจังหวัดมักสะท้อนความผูกพันกับธรรมชาติและวิถีชีวิตของคนในพื้นที่อย่างลึกซึ้ง เช่น ปลาบู่กุดทิ้งของบึงกาฬ หรือปลายี่สกของหนองคาย ที่เป็นสัญลักษณ์ของแหล่งน้ำและวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่น นอกจากนี้ ปลาเผาะของเลย และปลากาดำของอุดรธานี ล้วนมีบทบาทสำคัญในระบบนิเวศและเศรษฐกิจชุมชน ผมมีโอกาสได้ไปชมและสัมผัสแหล่งน้ำตามจังหวัดต่าง ๆ เห็นได้ชัดว่าสัตว์น้ำเหล่านี้ไม่ได้อยู่เฉพาะในบันทึกอย่างเดียว แต่ยังคงเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของประเพณีและการดำรงชีวิตของชาวบ้าน ที่ยังคงอนุรักษ์ไว้ด้วยความรักและเคารพธรรมชาติอย่างแท้จริง ในภาพที่เห็น จะช่วยให้เราเข้าใจความงดงามและความหลากหลายของปลาประจำจังหวัดแต่ละแห่งได้ดีขึ้น โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งแม้ว่าสัตว์น้ำบางชนิดอาจดูเล็กและธรรมดา แต่ก็มีคุณค่าและแรงบันดาลใจให้กับคนในพื้นที่ ช่วยสร้างความตระหนักและดูแลทรัพยากรน้ำให้ยั่งยืนต่อไป
