It is what it is !
It's so easy to get caught up in the whirl of daily life, isn't it? Lately, I've been feeling bombarded by things that stir up irritation, anger, and even sadness. I looked at myself and thought, 'This isn't who I want to be.' My biggest goal right now, truly, is to cultivate a deep sense of calmness and acceptance in my life. I'm sick of letting these intense emotions dictate my day. I’ve realized that 'it is what it is' isn't just a throwaway phrase; it's actually a powerful mantra for acceptance. It's about acknowledging reality without judgment, letting go of the need to control everything, and finding peace in the present moment. For me, this journey isn't about becoming emotionless, but about learning to respond to situations with more grace and less reactivity. So, what am I actually doing to achieve this calmness? One thing I've started is practicing mindful breathing when I feel those familiar pangs of irritation start to build. Just a few deep breaths can create a tiny pause, enough space to choose a different reaction. Another strategy I’m exploring is journaling. When I write down what triggers my anger or sadness, I can often see patterns and understand where these feelings truly stem from. It’s like giving myself a little therapy session, helping me process my thoughts and emotions more constructively. Acceptance also means being kind to myself when things don't go perfectly. I used to beat myself up over small mistakes, leading to more sadness and self-criticism. Now, I try to remind myself that it's okay to be imperfect, and that every challenge is an opportunity to practice my new calm mindset. It's a daily practice, not a destination. Some days, I feel incredibly peaceful, and other days, the old feelings of rage and frustration creep back in. But instead of letting them overwhelm me, I acknowledge them and gently guide myself back to a place of acceptance. I've found that surrounding myself with things that inspire calm, like spending time in nature or listening to soothing music, really helps. Even just decluttering my space contributes to a calmer mind. It’s a holistic approach, where small changes add up. My hope is to truly embody that 'calm woman' I aspire to be, someone who can navigate life's ups and downs with a quiet strength, rather than being swept away by a tide of negative emotions. It's a journey of self-discovery, and I'm excited – and a little nervous – to see where it leads.
