How I styled Target decor in my home

Sharing a few snaps of how I've styled some of my favorite Target pieces in my home

The curtains and rug are a great neutral staple - I have them in my sons room, but would look great anywhere! These ottomans have been around for a few years. I went with the beige windowpane to keep it neutral since I wasn't entirely sure where they would end up, but they have so many color options every season! The Studio McGee art piece was the PERFECT size for this small stair landing, and I love how it brings in some warmth to the space.

... Read moreOh my goodness, you guys! I've been absolutely overwhelmed by how many of you messaged me asking about that gorgeous picture light illuminating the Studio McGee artwork on my stair landing! It warms my heart to know you appreciate the little details. That picture light truly adds such a sophisticated, gallery-like touch to the space, making the art pop even more. Finding the perfect lighting can be a game-changer for your home decor. While my exact picture light might be a past find, I can definitely share my tips for scoring similar treasures at Target and beyond. When I'm hunting for specific lighting fixtures like picture lights, I always start by checking Target's online selection and their in-house brands like Threshold and Studio McGee. They often carry elegant, budget-friendly options that mimic high-end styles. Don't forget to use specific search terms like "picture light," "art light," or even "gallery light" on their website. Sometimes, they'll categorize them under "wall sconces" or "accent lighting." If you can't find the exact model, look for similar finishes (like brass or matte black) and shapes that complement your existing decor. A picture light really elevates any piece of art, drawing the eye and adding a layer of depth to your walls. And since we're diving into specific finds and where to get them, let's chat about some of the other pieces many of you loved! That elegant Threshold vase you spotted on my living room mantel? Threshold is a fantastic go-to brand at Target for classic and contemporary decorative accents. I love how versatile their vases are – perfect for fresh flowers, dried botanicals, or even standing alone as a sculptural piece. When I'm shopping for vases, I look for interesting textures or unique shapes that can add character without overpowering the space. You can often find them in neutral tones like cream, grey, or terracotta, which makes them super easy to integrate into any color scheme. Then there are those incredibly versatile Studio McGee Ottomans! I swear, Studio McGee at Target is a goldmine for stylish, functional pieces. I opted for the beige windowpane pattern on mine, which was a brilliant choice for keeping things neutral and flexible, especially since I wasn't sure where they'd ultimately land. But I've seen them in so many amazing colors and patterns each season – from cozy bouclé to vibrant jewel tones. Ottomans are fantastic for adding extra seating, a footrest, or even a makeshift side table with a tray on top. They're definitely one of those pieces I recommend grabbing if you see a style you love, because they sell out fast! Let's not forget the textiles! The Hearth & Hand with Magnolia striped curtains and the Hearth & Hand checkered rug in my son's room are prime examples of how these Target brands bring so much warmth and character. Hearth & Hand is all about that modern farmhouse aesthetic, and their textiles are top-notch. I chose the 'Sour cream & black' striped curtains for a classic, enduring look that complements the green mountain mural. And the '5x7' checkered rug adds a lovely layer of pattern and coziness underfoot. When picking curtains, think about length (floor-skimming is always best!) and fabric. For rugs, consider the traffic in the room – a checkered pattern can be surprisingly forgiving! My biggest piece of advice when shopping for decor at Target, especially if you're looking for something specific like that picture light or a particular vase, is to check both in-store and online frequently. Their inventory changes often, and sometimes the best finds are online exclusives. Also, don't be afraid to mix and match! While I love a cohesive look, combining pieces from different Target lines (like Threshold, Studio McGee, and Hearth & Hand) can create a truly unique and personalized space that feels carefully curated, not just bought off the shelf. Happy hunting for your next Target decor treasure!
