Where’s the 90s babies at??!
This is the era I grew up in! Looking at this stuff gives me a serious Nostalgic feeling, sometimes I wish I could go back and just experience it all again for the first time! Where are the other 90s or EARLY 2000s babies at? We’re showing our age out here lol! 🩷
And yes, I am one of those that can’t send a message with an “lol” or “haha” because it feels too serious otherwise. 😂
Seriously, going back through these memories makes me want to rewind time! There's just something magical about the 90s and early 2000s that modern tech can't quite replicate. It wasn't just about what we had, but how we experienced it. Take Limewire, for instance. Oh, the thrill of those limewire search results mp3! You'd spend hours searching for that one song, praying it wasn't a fake or, even worse, a virus. I remember the pure joy of finally downloading a track, burning it to a CD, and then listening to it on repeat on my clunky CD player or even my early iPod. Speaking of iPods, remember the long syncing process? It felt like an eternity, but it was worth it to have your favorite NSYNC or Britney Spears hits in your pocket, not to mention those cool handheld music players with the tiny cartridges! And our communication? Forget smartphones. It was all about the flip phone, especially if you had a TRACFONE with those limited prepaid minutes. Texting was an art form, full of abbreviations, and God forbid you had to make a call after 9 PM to get free minutes! The internet was a whole different beast too. I can still hear the dial-up tone in my head! Our computers, with their bulky CRT monitors, might have been slow, but they were perfect for disc games like The Sims or RollerCoaster Tycoon. Then came the dawn of social media with MySpace. Who didn't spend hours customizing their profile with glitter graphics and choosing their Top 8? Tom was everyone's first friend! It was our little corner of the internet where we could express ourselves before Facebook took over. And for gaming, nothing beats the classic PlayStation 1. Hours spent trying to beat Frogger or causing chaos in GTA were the highlights of many weekends. These games weren't about hyper-realistic graphics; they were about pure fun and imagination. Let's not forget the quirky toys too! Does anyone else remember the Furby craze? I swear mine was possessed; it would just randomly start talking in the middle of the night! It was both fascinating and slightly terrifying. These aren't just gadgets; they're snapshots of a time when technology was exciting and new, but we still embraced a simpler way of life. It truly was an era unlike any other, and I wouldn't trade those memories for anything. What's your favorite 90s or early 2000s memory?

I remember when my ex stepdad got me, my older sister and my little brother furrbies. I’m also pretty sure they were possessed. We took out the batteries and they still worked. Tbh my mom ended up burning them. They were absolutely demonic little toys. But I agree it felt like they watched me and my siblings every move. They terrified my mom to the point like I said she burned them. And now by the looks of it I think some stores are selling them… again. In my opinion they should have been banned or at least taken off the market for good. So yeah furrbies are and were a no go as a toy in my opinion.
