Healthy & yummy kid approved POPSICLES!

One of my go to snacks that I make homemade in the spring and summer for my kiddos is popsicles! They’re so easy to make and the kids love them, plus they’re way healthier than store bought popsicles and contain no artificial colors! Here’s how I make them!

- fresh fruit (for the pictured pops I used 4 fresh mangos and 3 fresh peaches). You want to clean, peel, and cut the fruit.

- pure honey (sweeten to taste, I normally use 15 mL for the size batch pictured).

- pure vanilla extract (not imitation vanilla) I normally use about 3 tsp.

- 100% pure apple juice or apple cider with NO added sugar (I use about 1 cup).

-add all ingredients to a blender and blend on the liquify setting until all chunks are gone. Once liquified, pour into popsicle molds or BPA free disposable popsicle tubes using a funnel. Freeze for 10-12 hours or until completely frozen. If you use the same amount of fruit I did for this recipe, it fills 16 popsicle tubes!

*If you are using berries, you’ll want to use a mesh strainer to get the seeds out before pouring them into the molds/tubes.*

Let me know if you make homemade popsicles using my recipe or if you have your own you follow! Follow along for more homemade foods/treats this summer! ❤️

... Read moreMaking homemade popsicles has been a game changer for my family, especially during the warmer months. Not only do these treat ensure my kids are enjoying a snack packed with natural nutrients, but they're also really fun to make together. I love involving my children in choosing fruits at the store, washing, peeling, and blending them—this hands-on approach makes them more excited to try new flavors. One thing I found particularly helpful when making fruit popsicles is the importance of texture. While blending the fruits until smooth removes any large chunks, some varieties like berries need to be strained to remove tiny seeds for better mouthfeel, which really improves the eating experience for little ones. I also prefer using pure honey and vanilla extract to add natural sweetness and depth of flavor without relying on artificial additives. Freezing time can vary depending on your freezer settings and mold type; generally, 10-12 hours works well. Having BPA-free molds or disposable tubes gives peace of mind from a health perspective. Plus, this recipe yields around 16 popsicles per batch, which is great for sharing or saving some for later. If you want to switch things up, you can experiment with different fruits like berries, pineapple, or watermelon. Using 100% pure apple juice or cider as a base keeps it naturally sweet without unwanted sugars, making this a guilt-free treat both kids and adults can enjoy. Overall, making homemade popsicles is a simple, rewarding way to serve a refreshing, healthy snack that tastes delicious and feels good to offer your family during the summer.
