Fighting, denying or repressing your emotions or situations is using your energy which gives them more power. This causes them to persist and continue to bug you. Accepting the reality of what you’re experiencing allows you to process your emotions and heal. Which helps you grow. Once you can accept the reality, you can transmute that energy into something positive for yourself. A beautiful transformation! 🤍✨
... Read moreI remember a time when I'd spend so much energy fighting off difficult feelings. It felt like a never-ending battle, and the more I tried to push them away, the stronger they seemed to get. That's when I truly understood the phrase, 'What you resist, persists.' It was exhausting!
But then, I stumbled upon the idea of acceptance, not as surrender, but as the first step towards true transformation. It's a huge misconception that accepting an emotion means you condone it or that it will stay forever. Instead, it's about acknowledging its presence without judgment. For me, this shift in perspective was monumental.
So, how do you actually accept? For me, it started with simply naming the feeling: 'I am feeling frustration right now,' or 'This situation is making me feel overwhelmed.' Instead of immediately trying to fix it or push it down, I just let it be. I’d take a few deep breaths, allowing the sensation to exist in my body. It’s a powerful moment when you realize, 'What you accept, transforms.' This pause creates space, allowing you to observe the emotion rather than being consumed by it.
Once I truly accepted an emotion, I found something magical happened: I could start to transmute that energy. Think of it like alchemy for your soul. Instead of letting anger consume me, I'd ask, 'What is this anger trying to tell me?' Maybe it was a boundary being crossed, or a need not being met. Then, I'd consciously redirect that intense energy. For example, if I was frustrated about a lack of progress on a project, I’d turn that frustration into focused action – breaking down tasks, creating a new plan, or even just taking a walk to clear my head and find a fresh perspective.
Some practical ways I've learned to transmute energy include journaling about my feelings without holding back, engaging in creative outlets like writing or drawing, or even physical exercise. Moving my body helps to literally move the stagnant energy. It’s about consciously choosing to channel that potent emotional force into something constructive, something that serves my higher self and brings me closer to my goals, rather than letting it drain me.
The transformation isn't always instant, but it’s profound. By consistently practicing acceptance and transmutation, I’ve found a deeper sense of inner peace and resilience. Situations that once felt overwhelming now feel manageable, and I approach challenges with a more curious and empowered mindset. It's not about being emotionless; it's about mastering your emotional energy so it works for you, not against you. This journey has truly helped me grow and experience a beautiful inner transformation.
