Beryl Be Damned: My 11:11 Houston Hurricane Hustle

Hurricane Beryl might've left Houston reeling, but it wasn't about to wreck my vacation vibes!

Picture this: Michigan girl, never seen a hurricane in my life, planning a trip to Houston just *one week* after Beryl ripped through town. News reports are grim, friends are warning me, and 2.6 million Houstonians are suddenly power-less. My inner worrywart was in overdrive!

To make matters worse, I had tickets to the Chris Brown "11:11" concert – my absolute fave. The suspense was killing me! Would he even show up? Would the stadium be up and running? Was this whole trip about to go down the drain?

I called my hotel – thankfully, they had power! I checked with the stadium – no cancellations so far! But I still felt this nagging doubt... even called my credit card to see if I could bail and get my money back.

Thursday rolled around, and I was still on the fence. My flight was on Monday, and I was seriously considering throwing in the towel.

Then, Friday morning at 11:11 (yes, *that* 11:11), a little miracle happened. A welcome email from my hotel landed in my inbox. It was like a sign from the universe! I mean, come on – 11:11 is all about intuition, enlightenment, awakening... this had to mean something!

Suddenly, I knew. I had to trust my gut, hop on that plane, and make the most of this trip. And guess what? It was awesome! The city was still recovering, but the spirit of Houston was stronger than ever. The concert was electric (pun intended), and I made memories that'll last a lifetime.

So, the moral of the story? Don't let a little (or a lot) of uncertainty rain on your parade. Sometimes, you just have to trust the signs, take a leap of faith, and embrace the adventure that awaits!
