This is why this app even exists btw

After a long legal battle with Bytedance and the US government, the US federal court has denied the blockage of the law that will ban Tiktok in Jan 2025

While the app will still be usable on your device, if the app is deleted it can not be reinstalled, updates to the app will not go to US users, and eventually, the app will be so unstable from the lack of updates, that it will fail to function.

With Tiktok being banned just a day before president elect Trumps inauguration, we still have to see if he will reverse the ban as stated by him a few months ago.

This ruling stems from a long-standing battle between Bytedance and the US government. After TikTok's appeal to halt the law that would compel Bytedance to divest its U.S. operations was declined, users faced substantial changes. While the application will remain functional on existing devices, a deletion would preclude reinstallation, and updates will be inaccessible for US users. As concerns grow regarding the app's stability, due to a lack of updates, experts predict that the functionality of TikTok will ultimately deteriorate. The political landscape further complicates matters, especially with the upcoming inauguration of President-elect Trump, who previously hinted at potentially reversing this ban. The situation is fluid, and it remains to be seen how the outcome will affect TikTok's immense user base in the U.S. amidst debates over free speech and governmental control in digital spaces.
