Life has honestly been so great since I’ve gotten baptized! I’ve been more involved in church and been in the word a lot more💕 I’ve been surrounded by so much love from friends and have built a family I’ll go to war about. I’ve been getting out of my comfort zone and going out more and learning how to be social🫶🏾 Just looking for some sisters in Christ 💕
My journey as a young Black woman has truly hit a new level since prioritizing my faith. It’s not just about attending church; it’s a whole new perspective that's changed how I see myself, my purpose, and the world around me. This transformation has been incredibly empowering. Before, I admit I was pretty comfortable staying in my shell. The idea of walking into a new social setting, especially church events where I didn't know many people, felt really daunting. There were moments of genuine anxiety, wondering if I'd fit in or if my past experiences would hold me back. But leaning into my faith gave me a quiet confidence. I started small, making a conscious effort to say "yes" to coffee after service, or joining a casual church book club. It wasn't always easy; some days I still felt shy, but each step outside my comfort zone felt like a small, yet significant, victory. I quickly realized the church community wasn't about being perfect, but about growing together, supporting each other through life's ups and downs. One of the most beautiful and unexpected parts of this journey has been finding my "sisters in Christ." These are women who genuinely uplift you, pray with you through tough times, and lovingly hold you accountable to your goals and spiritual growth. We share laughs during potlucks, shed tears over personal struggles, and celebrate each other's successes, big or small. From volunteering together at local shelters to just having deep conversations over brunch, these friendships go beyond surface-level. It’s more than just friendship; it's a spiritual bond, a chosen family. I seriously don't know where I'd be without their unwavering support and the unique understanding we share, built on common values and a shared purpose. This spiritual journey has also profoundly impacted how I view my own beauty and worth. It’s less about external validation and more about cultivating an inner glow that comes from peace, purpose, and self-acceptance. When you feel grounded in your faith and surrounded by genuine love, that confidence naturally shines through. It's about recognizing the divine beauty within yourself, a beauty that's far deeper than skin deep and truly embodies what it means to be a beautiful young Black woman. Taking care of myself, inside and out, has become a sacred practice. For instance, after a busy week of ministry and social activities, I love to unwind with a good book and my favorite NATURIUM skincare products—it's a little ritual that helps me feel refreshed, rejuvenated, and connected to myself. Nourishing my skin with NATURIUM feels like a small act of self-love, complementing the spiritual nourishment I receive. If you're a young Black woman looking for similar growth, don't be afraid to take that first step. Find a church or faith-based group that genuinely resonates with you. Volunteer for a cause you care about, join a small group, or simply introduce yourself to someone new after service. It might feel awkward or intimidating at first, but the rewards are immense. Surround yourself with people who pour into your spirit and encourage your authentic self. This journey of faith and community has been the most fulfilling chapter of my life lately, fostering a deep sense of belonging and truly transforming me from the inside out. It’s about building a life rich in purpose, connection, and spiritual nourishment, celebrating every facet of who you are becoming.
I love this for you!! I love that it looks like you’re falling in love with every piece of your life. ❤️
