Scrolling through my camera roll, I rediscovered a photo of a page from my Bible featuring Psalm 111 and Psalm 110. It instantly brought me back to how deeply these words resonate. There’s something so powerful about seeing these ancient verses laid out on the page, reminding us of timeless truths and inviting us into a moment of spiritual reflection. Let's dive into Psalm 111 first, as it feels like such a beautiful call to praise. When I read lines like 'I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart' (verse 1) and 'Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them' (verse 2), it fills me with a sense of awe. It’s a powerful reminder to pause and truly appreciate the incredible things God does, not just in grand, miraculous ways, but also in the subtle, everyday blessings we often overlook. For me, 'fear' isn't about being scared, but about a profound reverence, respect, and awe for God’s majesty and power. It's about recognizing His ultimate authority and wisdom, which then guides our own understanding and decisions. It encourages me to seek wisdom in His word and to align my life with His principles, trusting that His ways are always higher and more profound than my own. This perspective helps me navigate daily choices, big and small, with a sense of purpose and divine guidance. And then there’s Psalm 110, also visible on that page. While Psalm 111 is a hymn of praise for God’s works, Psalm 110 carries a different, yet equally profound, weight. It's often seen as a prophetic psalm, pointing towards a sovereign king and priest. Verses like 'The Lord says to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool"' (verse 1) speak of immense power and authority. Even just glancing at these verses, you feel the weight of history and prophecy contained within them. It reminds me of the larger divine plan and the ultimate triumph of good, offering a glimpse into future hope and divine order.
