The BIG 3 R’s
Always remember to stay aligned and grounded…and when you feel “unbalanced” practice the 3 R’s to get you back on track. #restart #resist #refocus #mentalhealth #lovethyself
We all have those days (or weeks!) where everything just feels... off. You're trying your best, but staying aligned and grounded seems impossible. That's exactly why I want to share my personal secret: the incredible power of the 3 R's: Reset, Restart, and Refocus. I've learned that it's okay to practice these as many times as you need – there's no limit to giving yourself grace. First up, let's talk about Reset. For me, this is all about clearing the slate, literally and figuratively. When I feel overwhelmed, a good "Sunday Reset" routine can be a game-changer. This might look like decluttering my space, prepping some healthy meals for the week, or just taking an hour to mindfully plan my schedule. But a Reset doesn't have to be a weekly event; it can be a daily micro-practice too! If I'm feeling stressed during the day, I'll step away from my screen for five minutes, do some deep breathing, and just let go of the immediate pressure. It helps me shed yesterday's worries and start fresh in the moment. Next, we have Restart. This "R" is incredibly powerful, especially when you feel like you need to "restart your life" or just a challenging project. It's about giving yourself permission to try again, even if you stumbled. Forgiving yourself for past mistakes or missteps is a huge part of this. Maybe you had a bad morning, or a task didn't go as planned. Instead of dwelling, a Restart means consciously choosing to re-engage with a fresh perspective. I often find that setting one small, achievable goal for the next hour helps me to Restart and build momentum. It’s not about perfection, but about consistent effort. Finally, there's Refocus. Once you've hit Reset and decided to Restart, Refocus helps you channel your energy effectively. This means redirecting your attention to what truly matters and aligning with your intentions. When my mind is scattered, I grab my journal and just brain-dump everything I'm thinking. Then, I visually highlight my top 3 priorities for the day or week. It's amazing how much clarity this brings. Sometimes, it’s as simple as stepping away from a distracting social media feed to Refocus on a meaningful conversation or a creative project. It helps me resist distractions and stay present. Embracing these 3 R's – Reset, Restart, Refocus – has truly transformed how I navigate daily challenges and maintain my mental well-being. Remember, it’s a journey, not a destination, and it’s always okay to start again, as many times as you need.
