Intro To My Loc Page ✨
I just retwisted my locs and put them in braids.
March 13 will mark 3yrs, 5 months. 🍂
Some locs are shorter than others because I had severe thinning and I had to remove them.
Starting a loc journey is a deeply personal experience that comes with both challenges and rewarding milestones. Having reached over three years with my locs, I’ve learned a lot about hair care, especially when dealing with issues like thinning. One key insight I can share is the importance of gentle handling. When I noticed some of my locs thinning severely, I had to carefully remove the affected ones to protect my scalp and promote healthy growth. This was a difficult decision but necessary for the overall health of my hair. Retwisting my locs regularly, like I recently did before braiding them, helps maintain their neatness and encourages stronger roots. I found that using natural oils and moisturizing regularly after retwists helped reduce breakage significantly. If you are experiencing similar thinning or just starting your loc journey, I recommend being patient and loving with your hair. It’s not just about aesthetics but also about scalp health. Sometimes, shorter locs are part of the journey — they represent resilience and commitment. Additionally, joining online communities centered on locs, such as hashtags #locsjourney, #mylocjourney, and #locs, can provide immense support and inspiration. They’re great spaces to share progress, troubleshoot issues, and celebrate successes. Remember, every loc journey is unique. Embrace your hair’s story, take care of your scalp, and don’t hesitate to adapt your routine as your hair changes. This approach will help your locs thrive over the years.
