Real Body Composition!

Day six and I’m noticing a difference. I can’t tell if my back got smaller but that shelf 🍑 is shelf-ing.

Here are my go to’s for growing or maintaining perky cheeks:

🍑Back Squats

🍑RDLs

🍑Cable Kick Backs

🍑Hanging Knee Raises

And of course cardio and stretching!

Tell me what day are you on now?

... Read moreIt's been so exciting to see the changes in my body, and I know many of you are curious about what 'body recomposition' really means and how to achieve that sculpted physique, especially when it comes to growing those glutes! For me, body recomposition isn't just about losing weight; it's about transforming my body by building muscle while simultaneously reducing body fat. It’s a journey that requires consistency, smart training, and patience, but the results are incredibly rewarding. One of the biggest game-changers in my own body recomposition journey has been focusing on compound movements for my glutes. When I started, I really wanted to build a stronger, perkier 'shelf 🍑,' and these exercises have been central to that. For instance, Back Squats are a foundational movement. I typically aim for around 4 sets of 8 repetitions, really focusing on going deep and feeling the stretch in my glutes at the bottom. Proper form is crucial here to prevent injury and maximize muscle activation. I always make sure my core is engaged and my chest stays up. Then there are RDLs (Romanian Deadlifts), which are fantastic for targeting the hamstrings and glutes. I've found that doing 4 sets of 10 reps with a controlled, slow eccentric (lowering) phase really helps me feel that deep glute stretch. It’s not about how much weight you lift, but how well you execute the movement. For isolation, Cable Kick Backs are my absolute favorite for shaping and rounding the glutes. I typically perform 4 sets of 12 reps on each leg, squeezing at the top of the movement. And let's not forget Hanging Knee Raises for core strength, which is essential for supporting all those heavy lifts. Beyond just the exercises, I've learned that progressive overload – gradually increasing the weight, reps, or sets over time – is key to continuous muscle growth. My 'Day 6' update might seem small, but these consistent efforts are what truly drive a body composition transformation. Remember to also incorporate cardio for overall cardiovascular health and stretching to maintain flexibility and aid recovery. It’s all part of the bigger picture for achieving a truly strong and sculpted physique. But it’s not just about what you do in the gym. For true body recomposition, nutrition plays a massive role. I make sure to prioritize protein intake to support muscle repair and growth, and I’m mindful of my overall calorie intake to ensure I’m in a slight deficit or at maintenance, depending on my current goals. Hydration and adequate sleep are also non-negotiables for me. My goal isn't just aesthetics; it's about feeling strong, healthy, and confident in my own skin. Keep pushing, and you’ll start seeing your own 'Butts & Guts' transformation too!
