Im now a CCMA

I started in February and was on bedrest. Did all the schooling virtually and passed my class exit exam. I was very late in doing my skills/clinicals but I scrunched it all in 2 days and 9 hours total while still healing. One June 28th I was due for my NHA yest, after stressing and I couldnt even SLEEP.

Took my 3 hour test, with 25 minutes left. I passed, and can now call myself a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. In 12 months I got my High School Diploma and Clinical Medical Assistant certification.

I am 34 and never thought I could. Better things are coming and I did this for me and my 4 year old. I do not like school, or testing and I burned myself out. Maybe 1 day I can circle back and go for something else.

As a gift from school, I got to keep my chromebook for passing 🤗

Graduation is in August!

* If anyone would like to gift my snap for future endeavors or even to invest in my first stethoscope or first pair of scrubs Id be so so thankful.*

iamherlis is cashtag.

... Read moreThe Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credential, awarded by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), is a valuable certification for individuals seeking to advance in the healthcare field. Earning the CCMA certification involves completing specialized training, gaining practical clinical skills, and passing a comprehensive exam that tests knowledge in medical assisting competencies. According to the NHA, candidates for the CCMA exam must complete a medical assistant training program and demonstrate proficiency in administrative, clinical, and laboratory tasks. The exam itself lasts about three hours and covers essential topics such as patient care, clinical procedures, infection control, and medical law and ethics. Passing the exam earns certification valid for two years, which can be renewed through continuing education or re-examination. This certification significantly enhances employability for healthcare roles in clinics, hospitals, and other medical settings. Certified Clinical Medical Assistants perform vital duties such as taking medical histories, preparing patients for examinations, assisting with diagnostics, and managing healthcare documentation. For those who must juggle personal challenges like recovery from illness or other responsibilities, virtual schooling and flexible clinical scheduling options—like condensed clinical hours—have made it increasingly accessible to pursue this career path effectively. The story of succeeding under such pressures showcases resilience and determination, encouraging others who might feel discouraged by obstacles. Additionally, success in the CCMA exam often leads to opportunities for career advancement or further education in the healthcare domain, such as nursing or specialized medical certifications. Supporting new CCMA professionals with tools like scrubs, stethoscopes, and other essentials can be instrumental in their early career development. Preparing for and passing the NHA CCMA exit exam not only certifies medical knowledge and practical skills but also demonstrates commitment and readiness to deliver quality patient care in compliance with healthcare standards and regulations. This makes the CCMA certification a trusted benchmark for healthcare employers and a meaningful achievement for certificate holders.
