Officially GRADUATED out my CCMA program in 2025
I dropped out of school when I was 17. At the time, I wanted money more than an education—and honestly, with the way some teachers were, it felt impossible to succeed.
In my 20s, I went through domestic violence and bad marriages, but I kept working. I tried to go for my GED a few times, but life never left me the time. I struggled with infertility, pregnancy losses, and health issues. By the time I turned 29, my health declined back-to-back. But in 2020, I got my rainbow baby—my Covid baby.
Even then, I worked. I parented alone. And eventually, I decided I was going to finish school—not with a GED, but with a high school diploma. And I did it. I completed my credits, took a short break, and then enrolled in Clinical Medical Assisting school… all while on bed rest. I even lost my job as a PCT at the hospital, but I kept going.
In just 13 months, I earned my high school diploma, passed my NHA exam, and graduated college. Something I once said I’d never do—college. I was never the “studious” type, but I made it happen because I wanted a better life for me and my son.
I won’t lie—I’m tired. And I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to school again. But I made it. I’m here, healing, waiting for my externship to start. And after that, a career I worked so hard for. I can’t wait to give my son more than I ever thought possible. He’s already spoiled, and I love him more than anything.
Everything I did was for him, for me, and out of love and someone who supports me as well. An engagement in the process.
