How to Easily Update Your Apple AirPods Firmware
Updating your Apple AirPods ensures they run on the latest firmware, improving performance, fixing bugs, and sometimes adding new features. However, Apple does not provide a manual update button—AirPods update automatically when connected to an iPhone or iPad.
How to Update Your AirPods:
1. Connect to Your iPhone or iPad
• Make sure your AirPods are in their charging case.
• Connect your iPhone or iPad to Wi-Fi and keep Bluetooth enabled.
2. Charge Your AirPods
• Place the AirPods in their case and connect the case to a charger (or use wireless charging if supported).
• Ensure your iPhone or iPad is nearby.
3. Leave Them Idle
• Keep the AirPods in the case, connected to power, and near your iPhone or iPad for at least 30 minutes.
• The firmware should update automatically.
How to Check AirPods Firmware Version:
1. Go to Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Tap Bluetooth and find your AirPods in the list.
3. Tap the (i) icon next to your AirPods.
4. Scroll down to Version to see the current firmware.
To check if an update is available, search Apple’s official website or tech news sources for the latest firmware version. If your AirPods haven’t updated after following the steps, try resetting them by forgetting the device in Bluetooth settings and reconnecting.
