I know not everyone has the privilege of choosing the smarter vs. the cheaper option, but sometimes you do and don’t even realize you’re paying the poverty tax. Especially in immigrant or low-income households where “cheaper” feels more responsible. So when you do have the option, think long-term value over short-term savings.
