4days postop 👩🏼‍⚕️

Breast Reduction post-op experience 🥲

Overall pain: 4/10

Bruising: 6/10 i’ve seen people with worse

Swelling: 8/10 very swollen

tbh my experience so far hasn’t been bad at all. Not very much pain, more so just being uncomfortable from sleeping positions or the 24/7 bra wearing. Im able to do things around the house, light cleaning and lifting. I was even more comfortable in carrying my 8mo baby today.

I will say that has been the most difficult part of this process. Not being able to interact with her how I normally do, is effecting her. Knowing im home but can’t carry or cuddle her is causing her to act out. So that would be my biggest advice to anyone wanting to go through with a breast reduction with little ones. Wait til they are a little less codependent.

In the weeks following surgery, swelling and bruising are common, varying in intensity from person to person. Effective post-operative care involves wearing the prescribed support bras consistently and managing pain with recommended medications. For those with young children, balancing care duties with recovery can be challenging; it’s important to consider the timing of the surgery to ensure that your little ones can adapt to changes in care routines. Engaging a family member or friend for support can also provide relief during the initial recovery phase. It’s crucial to listen to your body, attend follow-up appointments, and communicate any concerns with your healthcare provider to ensure a smooth recovery process. Ultimately, with proper care and consideration, breast reduction surgery can lead to significant improvements in physical comfort and emotional well-being.
