New York -> MO

... Read moreWow, it still feels surreal to say I'm officially making the huge leap from Missouri to New York! I'm currently back in Missouri, doing the final packing rounds, and my heart is just bursting with excitement for what's next. This isn't just a move; it's a whole new adventure, and I've been dreaming about life in New York for so long, so it's amazing to see it finally come true. Anyone else find packing for a big move incredibly overwhelming? I've been trying to declutter for weeks, but it feels like there's always one more box to fill! My strategy for this Missouri to New York transition has been ruthless purging – if I haven't used it in a year, it's probably not coming with me. Especially with NYC apartment sizes in mind, every item counts! I've been researching moving companies and trying to figure out the most cost-effective way to get my belongings across state lines. Getting quotes, comparing services, and trying to avoid any moving day disasters has been a full-time job in itself. If you've made a similar move, especially from a quieter state like Missouri to the bustling energy of New York, I'd love to hear your advice on logistics! Beyond the physical packing, there's also the financial aspect of moving to a city like New York. I've been meticulously planning my budget, from calculating travel costs and initial setup expenses (security deposits, new furniture, etc.) to understanding the higher cost of living. It's a significant jump from life in Missouri, and definitely requires careful consideration. Making sure I'm financially prepared is key to having positive moving experiences in NYC. Leaving behind 'life in Missouri' is bittersweet, of course. I'll miss the quiet mornings, familiar landscapes, and the comforting sense of community. It's a mix of emotions – excitement for the new, but also a little nostalgia for what I'm leaving behind. However, the thought of immersing myself in the energy of New York City is incredibly motivating. I'm so ready for new experiences, exploring different neighborhoods, trying out all the amazing food spots, and just soaking up the vibrant culture. I'm really hoping for nothing but positive moving experiences in NYC, from finding my favorite coffee shop to making new friends and discovering hidden gems. I'm also planning to document this entire journey, perhaps even putting together a little 'mini VLOG' series on my channel! I think it would be so cool to look back at the process – from packing up my Missouri home to my first few weeks settling into New York City. I want to share the real, unfiltered experience, including the highs and lows. What kind of content would you love to see in a moving mini VLOG? Maybe apartment hunting tips, exploring my new neighborhood, or my first impressions of the NYC subway? This move from Missouri to New York is truly a dream come true, and I can't wait to share every step with you all. Wish me luck as I prepare for this incredible new chapter in New York! Let the positive moving experiences begin!
