HEAT ADVISORY

Today is the kind of summer day that we cave dwell and do NOTHING. Spending just 5 minutes outside while the pup does his business is too much.

The AC units can barely keep up and it’s 80 degrees INSIDE with them running full blast 😬.

So today the house will be messy, workouts are postponed, and we will hide and watch movies all day 😅

During these periods, it is crucial to take preventive actions to avoid heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Staying indoors is one of the most effective ways to stay cool, as outdoor heat can quickly lead to dehydration and fatigue, especially during mid-day hours. Ensuring your air conditioning unit is functioning well can help maintain indoor temperatures at safe levels. However, if AC units are struggling to keep up, consider additional cooling methods such as using fans, closing blinds or curtains to block sunlight, and staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water. It is advisable to postpone strenuous activities and workouts during heat advisories to reduce strain on your body. Instead, relaxing indoors with movies or engaging in low-energy hobbies can be both enjoyable and safe. Pets also need special attention during extreme heat, requiring shorter outdoor breaks and access to fresh water and shaded areas. Overall, being mindful of your environment and health during heat advisories enhances comfort and safety while preventing heat-related emergencies. Preparing in advance and adjusting your daily routine in response to Mother Nature's heat warnings helps protect you and your loved ones.
