1. I had to use my god son’s hand to help shape them more lol (their hands are close in size)
2. This was an idea my friend told me about (water & fire meet)
3. I made a smaller Mother Nature and wanted to do another on a bigger canvas & make it better
4. A 🥀 for my friend I didn’t know I could make one but I looked up how and did it lol❤️
5. I was doing this when I was working as a babysitter I guess you can say, to practice and it kept me busy & just therapeutic
6. Zoro was for a friend (who liked me lol🙃) but my depression was whooping 🍑 so I couldn’t finish it 🥲 he understood life be lifing sometimes
7. My daughter was Tigger for Halloween and she was turning 4 months, I wanted a cute photoshoot, I seen those pumpkins at Dollar Tree & got to work (I posted videos on my TikTok)
You know, when people ask about my 'art style,' I often wonder if I even have just one! My creative journey feels more like an exciting exploration than a single defined path. Looking back at my projects, from painting those adorable Winnie The Pooh and Friends Pumpkins for my baby's photoshoot to sketching an intricate Goddess, it's clear I love experimenting. I've learned that your 'art style' isn't necessarily a rigid set of rules; it's more like a fingerprint that evolves with every piece you create. For instance, when I was painting characters like Zoro, I focused on capturing their dynamic energy, which is a very different approach than trying to convey the serene beauty of Mother Nature. Each subject demands a slightly different touch, and those experiences collectively shape what becomes 'my style.' It’s about adapting and finding new ways to express. Sometimes, finding your style comes from unexpected places. That rose I painted? I didn't even think I could do it until a friend challenged me. It pushed me to look up techniques and try something new. Similarly, using my nephew's hand to help shape a piece for size, or just allowing myself to be therapeutic with my art while babysitting, these moments all feed into my artistic growth. Every small experiment, every new tool, every time I try a different color palette, it all adds to my evolving creative vocabulary. It's also completely okay to have unfinished pieces. That Zoro piece I couldn't complete due to a tough time – it's still part of my journey. It reminds me that creativity isn't always linear, and sometimes life happens. Even those 'failures' or pauses teach you something valuable about resilience and your own creative process. Don't let the fear of not finishing stop you from starting; often, the lessons learned in an unfinished work are just as profound. For anyone out there trying to discover their own art style, my biggest advice is to just create. Don't be afraid to try different mediums, subjects, and techniques. Paint some pumpkins, draw a cartoon character, try a landscape, or even dabble in abstract. Every brushstroke, every sketch, even the ones you don't love, adds a layer to your unique artistic voice. Observe other artists you admire, but don't try to copy them perfectly. Instead, ask yourself what elements you love about their work and how you can translate that feeling into your own unique expression. And most importantly, practice consistently. The more you create, the more you'll understand what truly resonates with you. Your style isn't something you find pre-made; it's something you build, one creative experiment at a time, embracing the mess, the learning, and the joy of making something truly yours. Keep creating, keep exploring, and your authentic style will emerge.
