I have been back and forth in my head about therapy for soooo long. I have a lot of childhood trauma, and adulthood stress and other issues that I think should be worked through. I hate making my loved ones become therapists for me. I want to keep my mental wellbeing private sometimes.
Some pros are that I would have a safe space to talk with someone not in my circle about things. Another one is that I am trying to cope with my feelings in ways other than medication at this moment, so it seems like a great alternative.
Some cons would be the price, Iām not sure how much it would be but I feel like itās not super cheap. And another con would be trying to carve out the time to go see somebody. I have 3 kids and a busy life so finding that time weekly or even monthly can be difficult.
What do you think? Is therapy worth it to you or do you find it to be a waste of time?

Therapy has become a widely discussed topic, especially when considering its value against the backdrop of mental health challenges like childhood trauma and daily stress. Many people hesitate due to concerns about cost and scheduling flexibility, particularly parents juggling busy lives. However, therapy offers a unique and confidential space to explore emotions and thoughts without burdening friends or family. This separation can provide an unbiased perspective and professional guidance that personal relationships might not offer. Additionally, therapy encompasses various formsāincluding in-person, online, and phone sessionsāthat can alleviate the challenges of fitting appointments into busy schedules. Some platforms even offer flexible plans or sliding scale fees to address financial barriers. Importantly, therapy isn't just about addressing mental illness; it's an effective way to develop coping strategies, enhance emotional resilience, and improve overall life satisfaction. For parents or individuals hesitant about medication, therapy serves as a valuable alternative or complementary tool to manage mental health. The process allows for gradual healing and self-awareness, promoting long-term positive change. Ultimately, while the decision to pursue therapy is personal and nuanced, many find that investing in this safe space is worthwhile for sustaining mental wellness and emotional balance.

Therapy is definitely worth it if youāre struggling with a mental health issue that really bothers you or takes up a lot of your day
