8/21

Yesterday was rest. Today I had to drag myself.

I was in my head the whole time. Questioning why I even want to go to the gym. Asking myself how I even got here. Like genuinely having a whole moment.

And then I got my ass up and went anyway.

That’s it. That’s the post.

13 more days.

I’ve found that there are days when just getting out of bed feels like a victory, especially when your mind is filled with doubts about why you even started in the first place. What helped me on Day 8 was remembering the bigger picture—the promise I made to myself to commit fully for these 21 days. Even when I was dragging myself to the gym, the act of showing up was itself a powerful statement of self-discipline and growth. That small step helped me reframe the struggle as part of the journey rather than a setback. Also, embracing the feelings of uncertainty and honestly questioning my motivations allowed me to reconnect with why I began this journey. I realized that fitness isn’t just about physical gains, but also about cultivating resilience and a positive mindset that transcends the gym. If you’re on a similar path, I recommend breaking your challenge into small, manageable goals. Celebrate those moments you push through mental resistance because those are often the times you grow the most. Remember, it’s okay to have off days—as long as you show up anyway. The habit of consistency, even on tough days, builds the foundation for lasting change. Whether you’re an expat adjusting to a new city or simply juggling life’s demands, committing to yourself is the most important thing you can do. Keep track of your progress, engage with supportive communities, and use challenges like these to level up not only your fitness but your mindset and self-belief.
