Grwm to do shift 1/3
Preparing for a night shift as a nurse or nursing student can be challenging yet rewarding. From my personal experience working night shifts, establishing a solid pre-shift routine is key. I usually start by choosing comfortable yet professional attire that suits the long hours ahead. A peach or blush-colored outfit often helps boost my mood and brings a soft vibe to an otherwise tiring shift. Hydration and nutrition play a vital role in maintaining focus and stamina. I make sure to eat a balanced meal rich in protein and veggies before heading to work. Packing healthy snacks also helps me avoid energy crashes during the night. Skincare is another essential part of my GRWM routine—after all, caring for yourself reflects in how confidently you face your duties. I cleanse and moisturize thoroughly to keep my skin fresh despite the overnight hours and hospital environment. Mentally gearing up is as important as physical prep. I often take a few minutes to visualize a smooth shift and remind myself of the importance of my role as an LPN or RN student. This mindset helps me stay motivated and alert. Lastly, I organize my work essentials like my badge, stethoscope, and documentation materials ahead of time. This simple step reduces stress and helps me start the shift ready and focused. Incorporating these steps into your GRWM routine for night shifts can improve your work performance and personal well-being significantly. Remember, taking care of yourself enables you to deliver the best care to your patients!
