Say Goodbye to the Lazy Girl Era🌼

Contemporary fast-paced life has made me, like many girls, so busy every day that when I get home all I want to do is lie down flat. I don't want to go to sleep at night and have trouble getting up in the morning.

Sometimes it seems like there's no way to tell if I really need a break or if I'm just getting lazy. Recently I found the guy that makes me lazy - my mobile phone. As soon as I turn on my phone ,it keeps me swiping and swiping and swiping. l can't bring myself to do anything else, my motivation is all gone. I realised that this was never going to be a good thing and I had to make a change, so I started doing these things:

1️⃣ ⏰ Set an alarm clock. Make sure to wake up before 7am. Set up two alarm clocks, one to go off at 6:40 and one to go off at 7.

Although the alarm goes off at 6:40, I will press the side button to make it go off again 10 minutes later so that in those 10 minutes I can sleep back in and be internally satisfied, and then when it goes off again I know that it's still 10 minutes to 7. At this point it is not so difficult for me to stretch and kick with my eyes closed to let I'm slowly waking up. That way, I have enough time for my morning ritual before I start work at 9 a.m. and Im energised for the day.

2️⃣ 🗓️ Plan. Every morning I write down my daily to-do list and what I have planned for the day. I also plan my week! Having a plan helps you get back on track again if you stray.

3️⃣ 💪🏽Move. Exercise has boosted my dopamine levels, made me feel happier, and I've gained a great body at the same time. Of course this doesn't happen overnight, it takes consistency. I also went from walking every day then to jumping in the gym and doing Pilates workouts at home. In short, start with the subtlest exercise you can do and move whenever you can.

4️⃣ 💻 Learn skills. Setting aside 20 minutes to learn Python or Spanish, meditate, and journal helps me stay focused and avoid comparison and depression.

5️⃣ 🫐 Learn to cook. Treat yourself to a healthy meal, cooking and shopping takes more effort than ordering a takeaway, but it's well worth it. It's both a great way to put my phone down and focus on different things! And it makes me healthier.

6️⃣ 🧹 Tidy your room. Keeping your room tidy is like putting your brain on "clean mode". You know, sometimes when my room is a mess, I feel like my thoughts get messy too. But once l've tidied things up, it's like my mood is refreshed and I can concentrate better on what l'm doing. It's like creating a clean, tidy thinking environment for myself, making it easier for me to process things and more motivated to get things done!

7️⃣ 🧴Do the care. Self-care is like a "reset" for yourself! Whether it's in the morning, afternoon or evening, it's one of those moments that can free you up from the busyness of the day. Taking the time to take care of yourself is like scrubbing away all your cares and making you feel fresh and new!

All in all, be patient and don't rush. Make a little change and it might make a big difference! Don't forget, good things come slowly but surely!💪🏽💪🏽❤️

... Read moreIt's so easy to fall into the 'lazy girl era', isn't it? I know I've been there – feeling glued to my phone, dreading mornings, and just generally lacking motivation. For a long time, I thought it was just 'who I was.' But what I realized is that it’s not about being inherently lazy; it’s often about feeling overwhelmed or not knowing where to start. If you're searching for ways to say goodbye to that feeling, I want to share a bit more about what truly helped me make that shift from a lazy lifestyle to one where I feel more in control and energized. One of the biggest hurdles was actually *starting*. My alarm clock trick (setting two, hitting snooze once) was a game-changer for gradually waking up. But beyond that, I found that making the first step incredibly tiny helped. Instead of saying, 'I need to exercise,' I'd tell myself, 'I'm just going to put on my workout clothes.' Often, that small action was enough to propel me into a quick walk or even a 10-minute stretch. It builds momentum and reminds you that even a little bit of movement contributes to your health and happiness. Don't underestimate the power of those micro-habits! Planning daily and weekly tasks also became less daunting when I reframed it. Instead of a rigid schedule, I started with a 'top 3' for the day. What absolutely must get done? Once those three are tackled, anything else is a bonus. This prevents that feeling of being swamped and builds confidence. Seeing those checkmarks gave me such a refreshed mood and helped with better concentration on what mattered. Another thing that truly helped me say goodbye to laziness was dedicating even a small chunk of time to learning skills. It doesn't have to be a big commitment like mastering Python or Spanish right away. It could be watching a short tutorial on something new, reading a chapter of a book, or even just doing a guided meditation. These activities stimulate your brain in a different way than endless scrolling and give you a sense of accomplishment that really combats that sluggish feeling. And let's talk about self-care and nourishment. Initially, cooking felt like just another chore. But learning to prepare healthy meals transformed my energy levels and my relationship with food. It became a creative outlet, a way to put my phone down and focus on something tangible. Similarly, embracing self-care isn't selfish; it's essential fuel. Whether it’s a quiet cup of tea, a warm bath with candles like the image shows, or even just 15 minutes of journaling, these moments are vital for recharging. They contribute immensely to mental clarity and overall well-being. Finally, the power of your environment. You know how a messy room can sometimes make your thoughts feel messy too? That’s exactly why tidying your room became a non-negotiable for me. It’s like creating a clean slate for your mind, fostering a refreshed mood and making better concentration genuinely easier. It doesn't have to be perfect, just decluttered enough to feel calm. Remember that perfection isn't the goal. There will be days when you snooze more than planned, skip a workout, or order takeout. That's okay! The key is consistency over perfection. Don't let one 'off' day derail your entire progress. Just acknowledge it, and get back on track the next day. This journey to say goodbye to laziness is a marathon, not a sprint. Every small step, every conscious choice, is a win. You've got this! ✨
