Felt hella cute #makeup
It's always so satisfying when you finish a makeup look and feel totally confident in it! I'm constantly learning and trying new products, and over time, I've developed my own little checklist for how I evaluate my makeup, and even what I look for when I'm assessing new products. Especially since I'm really into contouring, every step needs to work together perfectly. When it comes to foundation, I'm super picky. For me, it's all about how well it blends into my skin, the coverage it provides without feeling heavy, and most importantly, its longevity. Does it stay put all day, or does it start to break up around my nose or chin? A good foundation is the canvas for everything else, especially for a seamless contour. I also pay attention to how layerable it is – can I build it up in certain areas without it looking cakey? You want that strong value for your money, right? Next up is concealer. This is crucial for brightening and covering any imperfections. I evaluate if it creases under my eyes throughout the day, how well it hides dark circles, and if it blends seamlessly with my foundation. I look for formulas that offer good coverage but still feel lightweight, so they don't add texture. For contouring, which is a big focus for me, I assess the placement and blend. Does it create a natural shadow, or does it look too harsh? I prefer products that are easy to blend out, allowing me to build up the intensity gradually. The goal is to define my features without looking overly 'done.' I also consider if the contour product itself is long-lasting and doesn't fade, especially during a busy day. Then there's blush. After all the sculpting, a pop of color brings life back to the face. I evaluate blush on its pigmentation – is it too sheer, or too intense? – and how easily it blends into the skin, especially over my contour and highlight. Longevity is key here too; I don't want it disappearing halfway through the day. I also consider if the color complements my overall look and skin tone. Setting powder is essential for locking everything in. My main criteria are whether it mattifies without making my skin look flat, if it blurs pores, and if it prevents creasing, especially under the eyes. I'm always on the hunt for powders that give a smooth, airbrushed finish without adding any noticeable texture or flashback. Finally, for lip gloss, I'm looking for a comfortable feel, a beautiful shine, and a non-sticky formula. Does it plump my lips subtly? How long does that glossy finish last? I appreciate glosses with good value that offer a nice pop of color or simply enhance my natural lip color. Sometimes I love a playful brand with unique shades, other times a professional, long-lasting formula is exactly what I need. Overall, when I'm evaluating a full makeup look, I consider the harmony of all the products – do they layer well together? Do they last? And of course, the value for money is always in the back of my mind.
