Getting my Apt Renovated + Decorated 🙂↕️
It’s been a long time coming, now that our space is finally coming together we don’t wanna leave 😭 Still contemplating on getting a townhouse but for now, we’ve been eating up the new look of the apartment ✨
i’ve been in an functional depression for a few years by neglecting my space, social life & personal.. it’s been a bout 7-9 months i’ve been feeling myself again. I’ve been sober for a year from any heavy intake 👏🏼 Some highs & lows ofc, but tending to home & gathering my finances really helped me pick up the pieces or slack.
i’ll post more as the living room gets decorated for Christmas 🤗

Renovating and decorating your apartment can be a transformative experience, not only in improving your living space but also in supporting your mental and emotional well-being. Many people going through difficult times, such as functional depression, often neglect personal spaces, which can affect mood and motivation. Creating a home that reflects your personality and feels comfortable can be a crucial step toward healing and self-care. Starting with small, manageable projects can make renovation less overwhelming. For example, updating key rooms like the living room or balcony—where you spend a lot of time—can have immediate positive impacts. Personal touches such as cozy lighting, plants, or meaningful decor help make the space inviting and encouraging relaxation. Celebrating milestones during your renovation, like preparing for the holidays with themed decorations, can boost your mood and give you something to look forward to. Planning these seasonal updates creates ongoing motivation to engage with your environment and stimulates creativity. It’s also important to recognize the connection between financial stability and home improvement. Budgeting and careful financial planning allow you to undertake renovation projects without added stress. Many find that investing in their home environment encourages better financial habits. Documenting and sharing your apartment transformation journey, like tagging #apartmentglowup or #apartmentjourney, can connect you with supportive communities facing similar challenges. This sharing fosters encouragement and provides inspiration, enhancing social connections that might have been neglected during times of depression. Finally, maintaining sobriety and tending to personal health alongside your renovation project can lead to a more holistic recovery. Your improved environment becomes a sanctuary that promotes continued well-being and helps reduce feelings of isolation. Remember, your space is a reflection of you—taking the time to nurture it is a meaningful act of self-kindness and growth.
