... Read moreOh, what a dream my second day on the Oregon Coast was! There's absolutely something truly magical about being surrounded by nature's grandeur, and I've been collecting some favorite 'outside quotes' that perfectly capture the feeling of this incredible journey. This trip has been such a vivid reminder of why getting outdoors is so essential.
Waking up to the calming sound of waves, I couldn't wait to explore more of this stunning coastline. My first stop was Cannon Beach, where the iconic Haystack Rock stood majestically against the cloudy sky. The sheer scale and presence of it, with waves crashing dramatically around its base, just leaves you utterly speechless. It reminds me so much of the quote, "The ocean stirs the heart, inspires the imagination and brings eternal joy to the soul." It's so true; just being there, feeling the wind and hearing the roar of the Pacific, fills you with a deep sense of peace and wonder.
Later in the day, I stumbled upon a bustling pier where dozens of sea lions were piled together, basking in the sun and occasionally bickering over their spots. Their noisy, lively presence was just another fascinating reminder of the vibrant life thriving along this coast. This delightful sight brought to mind another lovely thought: "Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground." It felt like a perfect moment to just observe, reflect, and appreciate the wildness and raw beauty around me.
Walking along a wide, sandy stretch of beach, leaving fresh footprints in the wet sand, I felt completely at one with nature. The intricate patterns left by receding waves were like temporary works of art, constantly shifting and reforming with each tide. It's moments like these that make you truly realize the profound beauty in fleeting things. As the great naturalist John Muir wisely said, "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." I certainly did, discovering hidden treasures in every step!
Even a little drizzle couldn't dampen my spirits – it just added to the atmosphere! Watching raindrops playfully dance on the car sunroof as we drove past dark, towering trees added another layer of cozy adventure to the day. It made me think of the saying, "There is no bad weather, only inappropriate clothing." Being prepared for anything meant I could truly enjoy every single moment, come rain or shine. The natural beauty here is truly breathtaking, with vast expanses of sand leading up to tree-covered mountains in the distance. I even saw a wooden signpost with 'Taft General Warnings' nestled among driftwood, serving as a gentle reminder to respect the powerful ocean, but also not to let caution overshadow the sheer wonder of it all.
This entire experience has been such a powerful boost for my #healthylifestyle2024 goals – getting out, breathing the purest air, and just being present in nature. As Lao Tzu put it, "Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished." It’s all about finding those moments of awe, embracing the great outdoors, and letting inspiration wash over you. Each day brings new discoveries, new perspectives, and new reasons to fall completely in love with the world outside my door.
This is so cool! Welcome to the community✨ 💫
