DESERT SANDS

Walking through spiritual deserts can be challenging, but it’s often in these moments of dryness and testing that our faith deepens the most. From my own experience, I’ve learned that like Jesus in the wilderness, relying on the Holy Spirit, regular prayer, and Scripture greatly strengthens one’s resolve against temptation and discouragement. In Matthew 4, Jesus faced direct temptation from Satan after fasting, yet He stood firm by quoting Scripture and remaining spiritually disciplined. This teaches us that spiritual victory isn’t just about memorizing verses but also about cultivating a life steeped in prayer, fasting, and intentional time with God. When I committed to daily devotions and sought the Holy Spirit’s guidance earnestly, I noticed a greater capacity to resist negative thoughts and unhealthy habits. Furthermore, the encouragement "Don’t give up at 40!" resonates deeply as a reminder that breakthrough is often near, even when the struggle feels prolonged. For many, like myself, entering a new phase or “Promised Land” follows persistent faith and endurance. It’s important to remember that setbacks don’t define the outcome; they refine it. Make space for Jesus in every circumstance. Whether in moments of waiting or action, walking in love and continuous prayer invites peace and direction. The journey may feel like desert sands shifting beneath your feet, but with spiritual discipline and trust in God’s promises, we are equipped to overcome giants and receive blessings in due time. Keep praying, stay grounded in Scripture, and trust that your spiritual rain will come after the dry season.
