Devotional- Walking With God by David Jeremiah
Maintaining spiritual health requires intentional self-reflection and commitment, much like routine care for a vehicle. The passage from 2 Timothy 3 encourages us to honestly evaluate our character traits against biblical standards—to identify and remove qualities that hinder our growth, such as selfishness, pride, or unforgiveness. I've found that setting aside time daily to pray and meditate on scripture helps me recognize these areas in my own life. Even on challenging days, consistently leaning on this practice provides clarity and strength. Moreover, embracing patience and perseverance is vital—especially when facing periods of waiting or trials, as reflected in the encouragement "Don’t Give Up At 40!" This reminds me to hold fast to hope and trust God's timing, knowing that difficulties will pass and blessings will come. Incorporating love into everyday actions, as the devotional emphasizes walking in love, transforms relationships and fosters a supportive community. Personally, I keep a journal of my spiritual reflections and prayers, which helps me track progress and stays aligned with sound doctrine, resembling the life Paul describes. When I catch myself slipping into negative patterns listed in 2 Timothy 3:2-5, I confess and seek forgiveness, allowing God's grace to renew me. Such ongoing spiritual checkups keep me grounded and prepared for Jesus' return, reinforcing the message that spiritual vigilance is necessary and rewarding. Ultimately, making space for Jesus in our hearts means actively cultivating faith and love through daily devotionals, prayer, and living out biblical teachings.
