✨ 2024 we are making vision boards!! ✨
December is here! Are you creating a vision board for next year? What are your plans and prayers
for 2025? Let's align our goals with God's purpose and step into the new year with faith and intention!
Like many of you, I've found immense clarity and inspiration through creating personal vision boards. It's truly a powerful way to set intentions for my 'new beginnings' and align my path with a higher purpose, much like my 'God FIRST' board helps me focus on spiritual growth. But what if we took that same magic of shared dreams and collective aspiration and brought it into our workplaces or community groups? That's where the idea of a vision board team building activity comes in! It’s not just about individual desires; it's about defining shared objectives, values, and future aspirations for an entire group. Imagine your team, much like a beautiful collage with 'pink roses' symbolizing growth and 'smartwatches' representing efficient progress, all contributing to a collective masterpiece. Why a Team Vision Board Works Wonders: Enhanced Alignment: Just as my vision board helps me stay on track, a team vision board ensures everyone is literally on the same page. It fosters a shared sense of direction and purpose, minimizing misunderstandings. Increased Motivation & Engagement: Visualizing collective success is incredibly powerful. When team members can see and feel the future they're building together, it ignites enthusiasm and dedication. It's like giving everyone a 'decorated cap' to celebrate future achievements! Improved Communication: This activity naturally encourages open discussion about hopes, challenges, and strategies. It's a fantastic way for team members to express their ideas and understand diverse perspectives. Boosts Creativity & Fun: Stepping away from daily tasks for a creative session can break monotony and spur innovative thinking. It’s a refreshing change that taps into everyone's imaginative side. Reinforces Team Culture: A vision board helps define or reinforce core team values. Concepts like 'Godfidence' in my personal board can translate to 'confidence in our team's abilities' or 'GIRL YOU GOTTA BE PATIENT' for a team's long-term goals. How to Facilitate Your Own Team Vision Board Session: Ready to try this engaging team building activity? Here’s a simple guide: Set the Stage: Before diving in, define a clear objective for the team board. Is it for next quarter's goals, a new project launch, or shaping the team's overall culture for the year? Having a focus makes the exercise more impactful. Gather Your Supplies: You’ll need large poster boards, plenty of old magazines, printouts of relevant images (think industry trends, symbols of success, abstract concepts like 'new beginnings'), glue sticks, scissors, and colorful markers. Brainstorm & Reflect: Start with a brief individual reflection. Ask each team member: "What do I envision for our team's future? What contributions do I want to make?" Then, open it up for a group discussion, allowing everyone to share their initial thoughts. Collage Creation: Encourage collaboration! Team members cut out images, words, and quotes that resonate with the defined objective. They can paste them onto the shared board, explaining their choices as they go. This is where the magic happens, as diverse ideas come together. Presentation & Discussion: Once the board is complete, have each team member or small group present a key element of the board, explaining its significance and how it contributes to the overall team vision. This fosters ownership and a deeper understanding. Actionable Steps: The vision board is a dream, but now it's time for action! Brainstorm concrete, actionable tasks the team can take to achieve this shared vision. Assign responsibilities and set timelines. Display & Revisit: Place the completed vision board in a prominent location where the team can see it daily. Refer back to it regularly during meetings to maintain focus, celebrate milestones, and assess progress towards your collective 'new beginnings' and 'spiritual growth' as a team. Embracing a team vision board activity can be a transformative experience, fostering a cohesive, motivated, and highly productive team ready to achieve amazing things together. It's a journey of shared purpose and collective 'Godfidence' in your team's potential!
