Quiet Cracking
Lately, I’ve been hearing the phrase “quiet cracking” in workplace conversations
📌 Definition:
In the workforce, quiet cracking is when employees are slowly breaking down mentally, emotionally, or physically on the job but it goes unnoticed because they keep pushing through.
⚠️ Signs of quiet cracking at work:
• Constant fatigue or burnout masked as “I’m fine”
• Decreased motivation, but still showing up daily
• Silent stress that builds until it feels overwhelming
• Loss of passion, creativity, or job satisfaction
And let’s be real… sometimes we’d love a new job, but with today’s job market, leaving just isn’t realistic for everyone. So what can we do?
✨ Wellness Tips for When You Feel Stuck at Work:
1. Redefine small wins 🌱 – Even if the role isn’t your dream job, celebrate the small goals you hit.
2. Set micro-boundaries ⏰ – Protect your energy by taking real breaks, saying “no” when possible, and logging off on time.
3. Use PTO strategically 🛑 – Even a long weekend can help reset your mind and prevent burnout.
4. Invest in yourself outside of work 📚 – Skill-building, hobbies, or side projects remind you that your identity is bigger than your job.
5. Lean on your support system 💬 – Talking to friends, mentors, or even journaling helps release the pressure you might bottle up.
✨ Remember: Work is important, but your well-being is priceless. Don’t wait until a “quiet crack” turns into a full break.
