NC Mountain Getaway
Our Dog Friendly Getaway! 🐶🐾
We spent this weekend in Lake Lure with the goodest girl, Holland. Here’s some of the stuff we got up to!
Friday night we started off our trip at Lured, which was great timing bc that’s when trivia with Cara is! We were planning on sitting in the outdoor area with Holland, but the patrons invited us in for the game. We made new friends and WON THE GOLD 🥇📣📣📣, which was a $20 gift card.
Holland recommends their chicken dog dinner!
Grey Hawk is a bar, restaurant, and coffeehouse that has quite a few events coming up this year! Look out for their Easter egg hunt, PRIDE event, and Food & Wine fest!
We only stopped in for coffee, but I recommend the brown sugar chai and a milkbone for your pup!
Canoe was a great place to stop in for a nice dinner with a view of the water and mountains 🏔️! We got the filet mignon, chicken rigatoni, fried plantains, and chocolate cake!
Dittmer-Watts Nature Trail Park
Before we left, we made a final stop at Dittmer-Watts to do a quick hike with Holland. There are several trails to choose from ranging in difficulty. We took the Mountain Vista trails, which was a little over a mile in total.
Holland’s Rating: 4🐾s
PSA: Earlier this year, western NC was devastated by Hurricane Helene. Not all areas are back on their feet like Lake Lure, but those that are need our support and business. If visiting Appalachia isn’t in your plans this year, try supporting local brands like Poppy, a hand-crafted specialty popcorn brand based in Asheville, NC.
(My favorite is the Asheville Mix 🍿)
