my honest thoughts as a small creator in 🇸🇬

hi zesties! 🍋 how's everyone? hope yallsies are doing well :)

as i've done my intro in the previous post (you can read it here) so i wanted to elaborate a little more on why i do content creation in the first place!

while i’m no big creator, i hope that whoever watches my videos on my social apps/reads my posts can tell the amount of time and effort i put in 💪🏻

and realistically: yes, i want to grow my stats. yes, i hope this becomes a proper side hustle. and i’d LOVE to earn from commissions and eventually work with more brands. being super honest and not gonna pretend otherwise

but beyond that, i genuinely want to get better at this. from shooting to scripting to editing to thinking of hooks, there’s sooo much more behind one 30 sec/1min long video than it looks

i’ve realised that even creators with big followings sometimes struggle when it comes to brand content. so seeing that made me reflect a lot on how i want to grow: not just in numbers, but in actual skills. i want to get better at content creation that will not only perform well, but feels intentional and grow my little close knit community who can vibe with my kinda style and content

so every time a brand (big or small, local or international, as long as reputable and not a scam! will talk more about this in my next post 👀) reaches out to me, i consider it a win! because it means they saw me. they saw the quality, the effort, and it matched what they were looking for 🥹🥹

so i'm so thankful to all the brands i’ve worked with so far 🫶 and to everyone who’s been supporting too, thank you 💌

and lastly, if you’re a fellow creator yourself, i'm always open to connecting!! we can be friends and support each other along the way (and maybe even meet up during invites/events too 😊)

... Read moreAs a small content creator based in Singapore, I’ve often faced the challenge of growing while staying true to my style and values. Many creators like me look for the best alternatives to popular masterclasses such as PWR Masterclass, trying to find affordable yet impactful ways to learn and improve. From personal experience, supplementing online courses with active participation in local creator communities can be incredibly helpful. Engaging with fellow Singapore content creators not only helps boost motivation but also opens opportunities for collaborations and brand partnerships. It’s important to recognize that behind every short, engaging video lies countless hours of scripting, filming, and editing. Even seasoned creators encounter challenges balancing quality and growth. I’ve grown to appreciate the value of learning core skills intentionally, rather than chasing numbers alone. Building a close-knit community that resonates with your unique style and authentic voice often pays off more than rapid follower growth. For those interested, some alternative learning options include local workshops, online tutorials tailored for digital creators, and platforms that focus on content strategy and brand collaboration. Always vet any educational or partnership opportunities carefully to avoid scams—something I’ve become particularly cautious about. Networking with honest and supportive creators in Singapore can also provide insights and practical advice beyond what classes offer. By sharing my journey honestly, I hope to encourage other small creators to embrace the process with patience and persistence. Growth may be gradual, but intentional skill-building and genuine community engagement can make content creation a rewarding side hustle and beyond. For anyone exploring this path, remember you’re not alone, and there’s value in every small win along the way.
