I used heavy-duty hardware cloth (not just chicken wire, which isn't predator-proof!) to enclose all open sides. Make sure to bury the hardware cloth at least 6-12 inches deep around the perimeter to prevent digging predators. I also added a secure, latching door that I double-checked every night. Waterers and Feeders: I hung waterers and feeders from the carport frame to keep them off the ground and prevent contamination. This also makes them harder for rodents to access.
