Patience w/ a Capital “P”

I planned on writing another post, but I got faced with a patience dilemma sooo I figured I talk about it. Patience is something I’m really trying to work on.

In all transparency, I struggle with patience because I have this allocated time for things and sometimes I don’t like when it takes longer. However, I’ve been learning to let that go, because sometimes things take longer than usual. I once heard a quote that I carry with me each day.

“All good things take time”

Now, I normally can wait things out due to projects or life goals because I like to see things through. I’ve learned to take a step back and submit to the process because we are always learning and growing.

However, I more struggle with patience with people. Most of the time it is people trying to make me upset. Other than that I’m pretty patient. I don’t respond well with people continuously trying to irritate me.

I do my best to start off by ignoring and redirecting my energy. Then I try to make my feelings known in a subtle or stern way. After that, I kinda of blow my top, because it’s like back off. It’s a part of being imperfect.

Patience is a virtue and something we can learn to perfect everyday. We won’t get it right everyday, but the effort is what counts.

Deep breaths, calm conversation, redirection can be helpful to establishing patience.

In our fast-paced world, the ability to remain calm and composed during challenging situations is a skill worth mastering. Various techniques can help individuals cultivate patience, such as mindfulness and self-awareness. Mindfulness practices, such as meditation and deep breathing exercises, can assist in centering your thoughts and emotions, allowing for a greater sense of calm. These techniques help redirect your focus from the immediate frustrations to a broader perspective, embracing the lessons that can arise from waiting. In addition to mindfulness, understanding the reasons behind impatience can provide clarity. It is essential to recognize triggers that lead to impatience, whether it's external factors or internal stressors. By identifying these triggers, you can develop strategies to cope effectively, turning potential moments of frustration into opportunities for growth. Furthermore, practicing empathy in your interactions with others can enhance your patience. Understanding that everyone has their struggles fosters compassion, which can diminish irritability when facing challenging personalities. Remember that patience is not merely about waiting; it's about maintaining a positive attitude while waiting. Engaging in activities that promote relaxation, such as hobbies or physical exercise, can also be beneficial in nurturing a patient mindset. Making time for self-care is crucial in managing stress levels, which can contribute to feelings of impatience. As you embark on your journey to mastering patience, remember that it is a continuous process of self-improvement, where persistent effort yields rewarding results.
