Free Date Night at the MET Museum NYC

Looking for the best date night deal in NYC? Read on to find out about free access! 🤩

The @metmuseum is one of my favorite museums, offering a vast collection of art from different centuries and regions. I always enjoy my visits!

One exciting opportunity you might not know about is the MET's date night, which takes place every Friday and Saturday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Enjoy drinks, live music, and special programming during these hours.

Here’s the best part: if you’re a NYC resident, admission is pay-what-you-wish. The same applies to students from NYC, NJ, and CT. Plus, if you're a @bankofamerica cardholder, you can visit the MET for free on the first weekend of each month! 🤩💰

Make sure to save this for your next date night! 🤗

From Sara with love ❤️

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

... Read moreOkay, so you've heard about the Met's amazing date nights, right? Let me tell you, it's not just about seeing incredible art – it's about the whole vibe! I recently experienced it firsthand, and it completely changed my perspective on museum visits. Imagine walking through those grand halls as dusk settles, the city lights twinkling outside, and the soft strains of live music filling the air. It’s truly magical and feels so much more intimate than a daytime visit. One of the biggest game-changers for me was understanding the 'pay-what-you-wish' policy. If you’re a New York City resident (or a student from NY, NJ, CT), don't be shy! Just show your ID at the ticket counter. I've seen people pay anything from a single dollar to the suggested amount – it’s truly up to you. This makes it such an accessible option for everyone, whether you're on a strict budget or just love a good deal. And for Bank of America cardholders, remember that first weekend of the month perk – just flash your card! It's a fantastic way to enjoy world-class culture without breaking the bank, making it a perfect free date night opportunity. During the Friday and Saturday evening date nights from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the Met truly transforms. They often feature different types of live music, from classical quartets in one gallery to jazz ensembles in another. It’s fantastic background music as you explore. You can also grab drinks at various pop-up bars located throughout the museum – a glass of wine while admiring ancient sculptures? Yes, please! The special programming might include curator talks, short performances, or even sketching sessions. Always check their website for the specific schedule for that evening, as it changes regularly, so you can plan your visit around something that really sparks your interest. My top tip for these evenings? Don't try to see everything. Pick one or two wings or exhibits that you both really want to explore. It keeps the pressure off and allows for more relaxed conversation. Afterwards, maybe find a quiet bench in one of the courtyards or a less-trafficked gallery to just soak it all in. The Met at night has a completely different energy – calmer, more romantic. Remember to arrive a little before 5 PM to beat any potential queues, especially if you're aiming for the pay-what-you-wish entrance. Wear comfortable shoes, as you’ll still do a good amount of walking. It’s genuinely one of the best value date experiences in NYC.
