Any easy way to secure a bun with a hair 🗡️ stick

... Read moreCreating a beautiful and secure bun with just a hair stick might seem like a magic trick, but trust me, it's easier than you think once you know the right technique! I used to struggle with my buns always coming loose or just not looking right, especially when trying to skip hair ties. But after practicing this method, I can now confidently say goodbye to elastics and hello to effortless elegance. So, how do you wear a hair stick vertically to hold a bun perfectly? Let me walk you through the simple steps that changed my hair game. First things first, I like to prepare my hair. For a really secure bun, especially if you have layers, you can start by gathering your hair into three main strands. I take one on each side and one on the top, almost as if I'm preparing for a half-up style. While not strictly necessary, you can even braid these three sections together lightly to elevate the look and give your bun more texture and grip. This little trick works wonders for keeping everything in place. Once you have your hair gathered, combine these three strands (or all your hair if you skipped the initial sectioning) and begin to twist them into a tight bun at the back of your head. The tighter the twist, the more secure your bun will be. Don't worry too much about perfection at this stage; we're just forming the basic shape. Now, here's where the hair stick comes in. I always start with the stick in an upside-down position. This might feel counterintuitive at first, but trust the process! Carefully, pierce the top of your bun with the tip of the upside-down stick. You want to get a good hold on the hair here. Next, the crucial part: hook the tip through that center strand of your twisted bun. This creates an anchor point. Once it's hooked, gently twist the stick downwards, piercing through the very center of your bun. As you work the stick down, you'll feel it upright itself into the correct position, securing the bun firmly against your scalp. It's truly amazing how it just locks into place! For a close-up visual, imagine the stick going in from the top, catching a good chunk of hair, then being rotated down and pushed through the base of the bun. If your bun feels a bit loose, don't be afraid to adjust it. Sometimes, I flip the stick upside down again, re-pierce through the top, hook it through a different back strand, gently twist, and pierce through the bun again. Slide it down until it feels snug. The goal is for the stick to hold the tension of the twisted hair against your head, making hair ties not required at all. This simple hair stick bun step by step method is perfect for anyone looking for an easy hair stick bun, whether you have medium or long hair. It's a fantastic alternative to traditional hair ties, reducing breakage and adding a touch of sophisticated style. Give it a try, and you might just find your new favorite way to make a bun with a hair stick!
