Goodbye August🍂🍁
August was full of memories for me! I started school again, had a few fun social events, and I had so much fun with family.
I am just so ready for September and hopefully the start of fall and cold weather. This eeek in Kentucky we had a huge surge of heat and this week has been the hottest week. The humidity reached 103. It hasn’t been past like 78 degrees since the beginning of summer.
What were your favorite moments of August!

Oh my goodness, can anyone else relate to that late August heat? Even when you're so ready for pumpkin spice and cozy sweaters, summer sometimes just refuses to let go! Here in Kentucky, it felt like Mother Nature decided to turn up the thermostat one last time, hitting a scorching 103 with humidity that made stepping outside feel like swimming. It really made me appreciate the little things that helped me get through those final sweltering days. One of my biggest lifesavers was staying hydrated, but not just with plain water! I discovered making big pitchers of iced tea with lemon and mint, or even just infusing water with cucumber and berries. It felt so much more refreshing than constantly reaching for sugary sodas. And honestly, embracing indoor activities became my new favorite pastime. Think movie marathons with all the blinds drawn, trying out new baking recipes (though turning on the oven in 103 degrees felt like a truly wild choice!), or just diving into a good book. Those were some of the unexpected "August memories" I made, finding joy and comfort in the blessed AC. It also made me think about how we often complain about the heat, but there's a certain charm to the "august summer" that we'll definitely miss once it's completely gone. Those long evenings, even if humid, have a unique feel that can't be replicated. I tried to squeeze in a few more outdoor moments early in the mornings or late at night, like watching a sunset on the porch swing or taking a short, breezy walk, before the real fall chill sets in. There's something nostalgic about those last lingering summer days, even with the intense heat. Speaking of memories, this month really filled up my personal 'August SCRAPBOOK OF MEMORIES' with so many little moments. From the excitement (and mild anxiety!) of starting school again, meeting new people, and catching up with old friends, to those fun social gatherings that had us laughing until our sides hurt, and especially the precious family time that truly warms my heart. We even did a few indoor crafts and board game nights that were surprisingly fun given the outdoor conditions. It's funny how even the intense heat becomes part of the story, making those cooler moments and the anticipation of fall feel even sweeter. As I pack away some of my summer clothes, like tank tops and shorts, and start eyeing those fall decorations – maybe a new pumpkin candle or a cozy throw blanket – I'm genuinely excited for the seasonal change. But I'm also incredibly grateful for the full, albeit hot, "august summer" I had. It taught me to appreciate the present, whether it’s scorching or crisp. It also made me realize how quickly time flies and how important it is to soak in every moment, no matter the weather. What are your go-to tips for surviving those last few blasts of summer heat? And what's one memory that will definitely make it into your 'MY August' scrapbook this year as you look back?

This is so fun!!! It makes me want to make a scrapbook in real life lol! I used to make them when I was younger & it would be so fun to have more to look back on
