Okay, so you saw my crazy encounter with that pillager army in Hardcore? Seriously, my heart nearly jumped out of my chest! What I wasn't expecting was how quickly a simple patrol turned into a full-blown raid. For anyone playing Hardcore, these raids are no joke. They're triggered by getting Bad Omen (usually from killing a Pillager Captain). If you enter a village with Bad Omen, BAM – raid time! Preparing for a Pillager Army in Hardcore: Before you even think about fighting a captain, make sure your gear is on point. Diamond armor, enchantments like Protection, Mending, Unbreaking are absolute musts. A good shield is your best friend against crossbow bolts. And don't forget a strong sword (Sharpness V!) or even an axe. I always try to clear out the surrounding area of a village before a raid if I can. Remove any potential hiding spots for the pillagers and make sure your villagers are safe, maybe even wall them in. Healing items are crucial. Golden apples, potions of healing, and even milk buckets (to remove Bad Omen if you don't want a raid RIGHT NOW) should be in your inventory. I often craft extra beds near the village as a temporary spawn point, just in case. Fighting Strategies: Pillagers are annoying with their crossbows. Vindicators are deadly with axes. Evokers summon Vexes (SO annoying!) and fangs. And then there's the Ravager – a tank! Focus on the Evokers first if you can, those Vexes are lethal. Using a crossbow with Multishot or Piercing can help take out multiple enemies. Aim for headshots! The sheer number of them perfectly summed up how I felt, I was definitely NOT EXPECTING that scale. My strategy quickly shifted from offensive to defensive, trying to funnel them into choke points. The "Curse of the Nether Regions" in Hardcore: Now, let's talk about the real danger zone: the Nether. If you thought a pillager army was bad, the Nether in Hardcore is like a constant "curse" waiting to happen. Every step is perilous. Ghasts: Their fireballs can knock you into lava in an instant. Always carry a shield and learn to deflect. Piglins & Hoglins: Don't forget your gold armor around Piglins! Hoglins are aggressive and can easily overwhelm you. Fortress Dangers: Wither Skeletons are terrifying – that Wither effect is a death sentence in Hardcore if you're not prepared. Blazes are annoying with their fire attacks. Lava Lakes: The most common killer. Always bridge safely, use fire resistance potions, and never dig straight down (or up, for that matter!). I remember one time exploring a Basalt Deltas biome; the uneven terrain and constant magma cubes felt like a true "curse." I nearly fell into a lava pit trying to escape a pack of striders. You have to be super cautious with every drop of lava. My biggest tip for the Nether: Slow and steady wins the race. Always have a clear escape route, carry fire resistance potions, and pack plenty of healing. You can't afford to be NOT EXPECTING a danger around every corner.
