It all BOILS down to this!!! 😅

Today I present to you, a fellow caricature artist… Gabriel! aka the suave guy with the “SUPER” jawline. 😎

This drawing is actually a mash-up of his interests. During our hangout, I got a good feel for his personality, along with the comics and horror films he’s into. I obviously took notes 😅

Which is why I decided to combine the two! The image that instantly popped into my head was Superman using his heat vision to boil Lex Luthor’s head after apparently taking out the entire Justice League… with the exception of Wonder Woman, who could only watch in absolute horror.

I’ll be 100% honest, I really wanted to simplify this one. But I stuck to my golden rule: always go with the first image that comes to mind. I’m so glad I did, because the final drawing turned out way better than it would have if I’d watered the idea down.

And judging by Gabriel’s reaction, all that extra work was absolutely worth it.

Dude, I seriously had an awesome time hanging out with you. I hope we get the chance to talk movies and comics again soon! And of course, working together someday would be sick. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to get a drawing from me. It means more than you know.

And thank Y O U for taking the time to read the backstory! If you’ve been following me for a while, I hope to post a drawing of YOU one day. And if you’re not following yet, I highly recommend it. 😊 We have a lot of fun around here!

... Read moreCreating caricatures that merge different interests and personalities is a thrilling challenge that can bring out the best in an artist's creativity. In this case, combining the thrilling worlds of comics and horror into a single visual story required not only imagination but also a deep understanding of the characters involved. When working on this piece featuring Superman and Lex Luthor, the decision to stay true to the initial vision—Superman boiling Lex’s head with heat vision—really made the art stronger and more compelling. From personal experience, sticking to your first idea often captures the raw energy and originality that can get diluted if you overthink or try to simplify too much. It’s fascinating how character dynamics, like Wonder Woman's stunned horror witnessing the battle, add layers of emotion and narrative to the artwork. Also, the reactions to such detailed caricatures often prove how much audiences appreciate authenticity and effort. Sharing stories behind the art process creates a personal connection with viewers, whether they're comic fans or just enjoy unique art. It’s a reminder that every drawing tells a story beyond the frame. If you've ever thought about combining different genres or passions in your own artwork or projects, let this be encouragement to embrace your first instincts and bring your unique vision to life. The blend of humor, excitement, and personal touches—like noticing cool jawlines or making notes while hanging out—turns simple drawings into memorable creations that resonate with many.
