I’m glad I didn’t solo travel to Istanbul

I’m not saying I had a bad experience it just wasn’t for me

... Read moreSolo travel can be a rewarding experience, but it’s not without its challenges, especially in a city as vibrant and complex as Istanbul. From my personal experience, the city’s rich history and stunning landmarks are undeniably appealing, yet some practical and social factors influenced my decision that solo travel here wasn’t the best fit for me. One of the biggest surprises was the cost. While Turkish cuisine is delicious, I found meals to be quite pricey, especially compared to other destinations. This added up quickly and made budgeting tougher than expected. Additionally, many popular tourist sites had entrance fees around €25, which further impacted my travel budget. It’s important for travelers to plan their expenses carefully when visiting Istanbul. Perhaps the most significant issue I encountered was the persistent harassment, which could be overwhelming at times. This is a common concern expressed by many female solo travelers, highlighting that Istanbul may not always feel like the safest or most comfortable destination for solo female adventurers. Interestingly, the Blue Mosque was the only place where I experienced genuine peace without any unsolicited attention, which made visiting it a memorable and positive highlight of the trip. If you’re considering solo travel in Istanbul, it’s vital to prepare mentally and financially. Researching locations that are more female-friendly, traveling during less crowded times, and possibly connecting with local guides or groups might help enhance your experience. Solo travel is highly personal, and while Istanbul offers so much in terms of culture and history, it’s essential to weigh these factors and decide what aligns best with your comfort and travel style.

A new journal I didn’t need but glad I bought
I enjoy finding prompt journals that are fun to fill in and this one was needed before I knew why! I’ve been having a hard time falling asleep 💤 so my therapist recommended a nightly mind dump. Nothing fancy, just raw, messy thoughts that are in my mind🧠 Well this book has sections with largest s
