Okay, so you've seen me talk about my first week with Mud Girl, but let's dive a little deeper into what this amazing event is all about, especially from a "paid to work the mud" perspective! If you're wondering, 'What is Mud Girl Run?', it's essentially an epic obstacle course designed exclusively for women, focusing on fun, teamwork, and getting gloriously muddy! It's not about being the fastest; it's about embracing the challenge and celebrating sisterhood. From the inside, I can tell you it's a massive undertaking. My POV is definitely unique – imagine getting paid to travel, literally setting up the stage for thousands of women to have an incredible experience. For my first city, we were technically just outside Chicago in Wisconsin, and the views were stunning! Day one is all about building out the course. We break off into teams, get each obstacle set, staked in, and ready for action. It's way more physical than you'd think, but so rewarding to see it come together. Then there's the festival aspect. This is where all the registration, merch, and bag drop happen. Getting all that ready before the big race day is crucial. When it comes to 'how long is the MudGirl run,' it's not just the race itself, which can vary depending on the course and how many obstacles you conquer – usually a 5K. But the event for us, from setup to tear-down, spans several days. Race day, for instance, starts super early, getting ready for almost 8,000 women! It's a whirlwind of energy. What I love most about being on the team is witnessing the collective spirit of 'girls mudding' – seeing women of all ages and fitness levels cheering each other on, conquering fears, and just having a blast. It truly is an empowering atmosphere. While my recent experience was in the Midwest, these events pop up all over, from Poconos to Calgary, Phoenix, and even upcoming ones in the PNW and LA zones. Each location brings its own unique flavor and challenges, but the core Mud Girl spirit remains. It’s not just a run; it’s a full-on experience that builds confidence and creates unforgettable memories. And yes, getting to travel, eat, and sleep for free while doing it? Absolutely a perk! If you’ve ever thought about signing up or even working one of these, I highly recommend it. It's been an incredible journey so far, and I'm spilling all the tea on what it's like behind the scenes.
