Sunscreen Review!
I've heard so many good things about this brand and their sunscreen. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. As a woman with oily skin, this seem to make it worse. It has a white cast when first applying, but after a great deal of rubbing it goes away. Because it's SPF 30, I believe you have to reapply after a few hours. It works fine on my other body parts, just not for my face. How did it work out for you?
I’ve personally tried the Black Girl Sunscreen Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 30, which is marketed as ultra sheer and free of white residue. Although it’s water-resistant for up to 80 minutes and contains natural ingredients like jojoba and avocado, I found that it didn’t quite suit my oily skin type. Additionally, even though this sunscreen worked okay on my body, I preferred using a different brand or formula for my face. When choosing a sunscreen, it’s important to consider not only the SPF rating but also the ingredients and texture based on your skin type. For oily skin, ingredients such as niacinamide, zinc oxide, or titan dioxide can often be more beneficial as they offer sun protection without clogging pores or increasing oiliness. If you’re trying to avoid white residue and greasiness, mineral sunscreens with micronized or nano-sized zinc oxide are worth exploring. Also, applying sunscreen as the last step of your skincare routine, after moisturizer, can help with blending and reducing the visible cast. Overall, while Black Girl Sunscreen SPF 30 is a promising product with natural moisturizing agents and fragrance-free benefits, it might not fit everyone's skin type perfectly. Testing a patch on your face before full application, and considering alternative options recommended for oily skin, could enhance your sunscreen experience.
