There were definitely moments of frustration and tears while working on it, but seeing it finished, bright and vibrant on that gray brick wall, filled me with so much joy! It's a true testament to pushing through challenges. I poured my heart into designing those pizza slices shaped like wings, making sure every topping – from the pepperoni to the mushrooms and olives – popped with color and detail. You can really get a sense of the intricate work up close, and yes, I even signed it 'NaTalie 2023'! The idea for pizza wings came to me because I wanted something fun, unexpected, and universally loved. Pizza is joy, and wings represent freedom and soaring beyond limitations – something I've truly embraced since navigating my disability. Painting this on the gray brick wall was a physical and emotional challenge, but every brushstroke felt like a step forward. It wasn't just about putting paint on a surface; it was about reclaiming a part of myself and sharing that journey with my community. When you visit East Chicago Pizza in Upper Sandusky, don't just admire it from afar! Get your picture taken right in front of the wings – it's designed for it! A little tip: remember to put your left foot in front of the pipe at the bottom for the perfect pose that makes it look like you're really taking flight. It's such a unique photo op, and honestly, the pizza at East Chicago is fantastic too, so it's a win-win! East Chicago Pizza has been so supportive, and it's amazing how this spot has become a landmark for my art. If you're looking for cool places to go, especially if you're passing through Ohio, this is definitely a unique stop. Not only do you get to experience a piece of local art, but you also support a local business. I've heard so many people ask for directions, and honestly, just GPSing 'East Chicago Pizza Upper Sandusky Ohio' will get you there easily. It's become a little hidden gem, and I'm so proud to have contributed to it!
