Read moreAs a stay-at-home mom (SAHM) juggling two energetic boys and preparing for a new arrival, I understand how important it is to find moments to reset and refresh the living space and mindset. Every day brings a new challenge, whether it’s cleaning up after a busy playdate or managing household tasks while caring for little ones. I’ve found that dedicating specific days, like Sunday or Monday, to thoroughly reset and organize not only helps maintain order but also boosts my mental clarity and motivation for the week ahead. These resets aren’t just about tidying up physical spaces; they are about recharging emotionally and mentally as well. Incorporating small habits, such as quick daily declutters and prioritizing deep cleaning during these reset days, can make the workload more manageable. It also helps me model organization and responsibility for my kids. Plus, the sense of accomplishment after a reset is invigorating. Balancing motherhood and self-care means recognizing that it’s okay to take breaks and not be perfect every day. Sometimes, saying "IDGAF today" is necessary to preserve mental health — then recommitting to the reset routine the next day restores balance. The journey of a SAHM involves constant cleanup — from toys to laundry to emotional space — but embracing these resets can turn the chaos into a more harmonious, joyful home environment. And along the way, don’t forget to enjoy the little moments of family life that make it all worthwhile!
