How do so many women give up on friendship?
What makes me happy? Sisterhood, I don't know how so many women give up on friendships, the older I get the more it means to me. I cannot do without the nights of laughs, love and support and bathroom selfies, all while we continue to destroy the patriarchy! I work, I give back, I’m present, I cook, I clean, I care for my family and I spend a lot of days putting myself last. My girls nights are mine, a place where I’m heard, a place where I don't have to have a filter, a place where I feel safe and supported outside of my immediate family. It's like my own club and it refreshes me and carries me until the next one. Friendships should be a priority for all of us, there's something so exceedingly beautiful about good female realtionships. 🫶🏽
What makes people truly happy? According to many women, it’s the unique bond of sisterhood and female friendships that bring the most joy and comfort. As women navigate busy lives filled with work, family care, and countless responsibilities, friendship often becomes a sanctuary—a place to be understood, supported, and free from judgment. A night spent with close friends—whether that’s sharing laughs, taking fun selfies, or engaging in heartfelt conversations—provides immense emotional relief. These friendships foster a sisterhood that empowers women to face challenges together, championing each other’s victories and helping to dismantle societal pressures, such as patriarchy. Interestingly, many women find themselves giving up on friendships as they get older. The reasons can be complex: time constraints, prioritizing family needs, emotional burnout, or feeling disconnected. However, it’s clear that maintaining strong female friendships is vital for emotional health and personal growth. These relationships serve as a circle where women can be authentic without filters, feel heard, and gain strength. Sisterhood offers more than just companionship; it fuels resilience. The shared experiences, mutual care, and unconditional support create a space that feels like a personal club—refreshing and sustaining women throughout their daily routines. Therefore, making friendships a priority is essential. Beyond the fun girls’ nights and casual hangouts, these connections combat loneliness, improve mental health, and nurture a profound sense of belonging. In the broader context, female friendships help challenge cultural norms and empower women in collective progress. Investing time and effort in these relationships can offer meaningful returns—emotional stability, encouragement, and lifelong bonds that enrich one’s quality of life.
